Make a Change Today
As 2021 comes to a close, many people will be thinking of their 2022 New Year’s resolution. I, however, will not be. I know, I know! I am in the personal transformation business; shouldn’t I be making a New Year’s resolution? Well, no, not necessarily. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions; I make today resolutions. In short, I make resolutions when it is time to make a change, not because of something as arbitrary as the change from one year to another.
Anti-Procrastination
Today resolutions are anti-procrastination. Those of us with ADHD have a tendency to procrastinate. “I’ll get to that later,” we say to ourselves. Later never gets here, and we continue the bad habit. However, if we make a today resolution, the change actually happens. We do not procrastinate.
Stop the Habit in Its Tracks
If we decide to wait for the new year, the habit gets more entrenched. It becomes harder to break. By making a today resolution, you stop the bad habit in its tracks. It becomes easier to take down. So, don’t wait! Make the change today!
Coaches Can Help
If you feel powerless to make a change, one thing you can do is to contact a coach. Coaches can be helpful in getting a new, healthy habit started. The old habits are subjected to change when you hire a coach. Now, instead of it being you versus the bad habit, it’s you and the coach versus the bad habit. You will outnumber the bad habit two to one.
