Resetting Exercise
Lately, I’ve been dissatisfied with my workout routine. I am working out almost every day, but I am not burning as many calories (according to my Apple Watch) as I would like. One of my key criteria for how good of a workout I’m getting, how sweaty I get, is not being met either. Getting good exercise is a key component in a healthy lifestyle, especially for the brain. Therefore…
It’s time for a RESET!
The Situation
I have come to the conclusion that I currently do not have a good exercise routine. I am not working out very hard. My effort leaves a lot to be desired. This does not enable me to get the benefits of exercise I desire.
My Why
I have ADHD and depression. Both of those see improvement from exercise. This means, if I want my brain to be operating at peak efficiency, I need to have a good exercise routine. Furthermore, if I get a more vigorous exercise during the day, I might even sleep better at night, and sleep is super important to me.
Who I Want to Be
I want to be someone who takes care of their mind, body, and spirit. A good exercise routine will help with that. I also want to feel good. Exercise goes a long way towards feeling good in a number of ways. Moreover, as a coach, I need to model healthy habits for my clients.
Strengths-Based Strategies
One key way to use your strengths is to recognize when you need to delegate. Am I able to get a good exercise routine established if left to my own devices? No, I think I am finally ready to admit that I am not. If I think back to when I was in the best shape of my life, it was when I was in wrestling as a freshman in high school. At that time, I had someone telling me what to do for exercise. It is time for me to swallow my pride and ask for help. I have made an inquiry for personal training services here in town, and I plan on following through with that.
