Reset ADHD in the News
Alex R. Hey is a Professional Certified ADHD Coach, author, content creator, and fellow ADHD-er. Getting to this point in his life has been an adventure. Alex lived without an ADHD diagnosis for the first two decades of his life, which allows him to understand firsthand the challenges his clients face, like feeling misunderstood, not reaching your full potential, and mental health consequences. Through the trials of his childhood, Alex learned to shut people out, hide from the world, and by extension limit his own potential. As an adult, Alex shedded the unhelpful patterns of his past and is helping clients do the same.
Alex is the author of several books and a popular ADHD blog. Most recently he has published the Reset ADHD Trilogy of Books (The ADHD Life: ADHD Explained… (or That’s Why I Do That), Stories from Climbing the ADHD Mountain, and From Surviving ADHD to Thriving: Mindset Shifts for the ADHDer). Prior to the trilogy, Alex authored Catholicism and ADHD: Finding Holiness Despite Distractions, a book that helps Catholics with ADHD manage their symptoms and grow closer to God in the process.
Moreover, his blog posts have reached tens of thousands of people looking for guidance on ADHD and share insights from his own life and experience with the knowledge he has gained from study and working with the ADHD population.
In addition to his writing, Alex is a content creator. He works diligently to produce courses, videos, and digital products so that he can provide support to more people on their ADHD journey. Alex founded the Reset ADHD Academy, which offers support for those struggling with the intersections of ADHD and exercise, entrepreneurship, spirituality, community, sleep, and even improv. He is also the co-host of the YouTube channel ADHD Skills with Jess and Alex.
Alex has been a coach since 2018 and received his PCAC from the Professional Association for ADHD Coaches (PAAC) in 2019 after receiving his coach training at the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA). He is a professional member of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), Children and Adults with ADHD (CHADD), and the ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO). He has served on the board of PAAC since 2023. To further aid the community, Alex can be found spreading awareness about ADHD. He has presented at schools, conferences (including the 2021 International Conference on ADHD), and various other locations. He has been interviewed on the radio, podcasts, and television.
To combat the struggles of ADHD, depression/anxiety, and his past, Alex continuously engages in his passions: Helping others overcome their ADHD-related struggles in a way that moves them to become the person they were created to be; writing about ADHD; writing poetry; improv; sleeping; following Minnesota sports teams (especially the Minnesota Wild); nerding out with regards to Batman, Star Trek, Sherlock Holmes and other detective stories, board games, and trivia; and practicing his Catholic faith.
He lives with his Alaskan klee kai Ace in Sioux Falls, where he uses his time alone to create content to support the ADHD community in ways he wished he had earlier and attends Mass at St. Thérèse Catholic Church. Catch him on the third Thursday of every month at Wooden Legs Brewing Company in Brookings, SD, performing with Improvanopolis.
