One of the best ways of keeping your ADHD brain happy is to keep a steady supply of new things and ideas. The ADHD brain loves new things and ideas. However, new does not mean more. It is better to describe the ADHD brain’s need for something new as a need for novelty.

Clutter

If trying to pursue something new means accumulating more stuff, you may end up with a lot of clutter in your home. Clutter is draining on the brains energy. Acquiring clutter only adds to the challenges the ADHD brain has to battle.

Resparkalize

The key, therefore, to satisfying the need for novelty while not acquiring clutter is to resparkalize things that have grown stale. To resparkalize something is to change it slightly to make it seem shiny and new. This could mean reorganizing your furniture or moving the things hanging on your walls around. Change how you look at things. Instead of getting a new phone, try changing your phone’s wallpaper or case. Do something different that does not involve acquiring a new thing.
