Secrets to Success as a CEO with ADHD
I recently made the acquaintance of Xander Kazanowski, CEO and founder of Wurk Services. He is a college dropout and started to do odd jobs to make ends meet. As he built up his client base, he began to delegate and grow his company. From there, he started a website and app to help connect people who needed services with people who needed work. I was able to interview him and gather his secrets to success. Here is what I learned:
Take on Responsibility
Kazanowski needed to make payments on his student loans, and that inspired him to get to work. He says you have to find a way to feed yourself. It was by taking on responsibility that he was able to do so. Now, he works for himself and does what he loves.
Do What You Love
Kazanowski says his passion is connecting other people with their passion. He told me he loves to help other people get paid. He has been able to succeed in the turbulent economy of COVID because of his passion. This passion will help him expand Wurk Services to other areas of the country.
Help Others
As I mentioned above, Kazanowski likes to bring other people to their passion. He believes that, if you help others with their goals, they will help you towards yours. Kazanowski is a connector and a people person, and that has contributed to his success.
Hire People That Are the Opposite of You and Delegate
As he got busy, Kazanowski began to delegate the things he does not like to do. When he brings on a new employee, he looks for people with strengths in areas he does not. By doing this, he ensures that the things he does not enjoy still get done.
Do a Little Bit Every Single Day
One of the things Kazanowski stressed to me during our conversation was doing a little bit every day. As the CEO, he can dictate what he does with each day. He likes doing something different each day. By building his business a little bit at a time, he is able to continue to grow. Every little bit helps.
Build the Life You Want
One nugget of wisdom Kazanowski shared with me is, “Build the life you want; not the life others want for you.” His example shows us that it is possible to create your own job. He says, “With the right reason, you can do anything.”
