REVIEW: Poems of the Neurodivergent Experience
I like poetry. I like writing it, and I also like reading it (when the poems are good). I have had stretches of time where I was really into poetry, reading and writing as much as I can. However, I have also had stretches where poetry has been absent from my life. I get distracted by other things, and poetry becomes less of a priority. Yet, my love for poetry always remains. I quite often think to myself, “I should get back into poetry.” Somewhat recently, I had one of those I-gotta-get-back-into poetry moments.
Book Review: Your Brain's Not Broken
Let me take you back in time. It is November 2018. I am attending my first International Conference on ADHD in St. Louis. I am socially awkward and unsure if I belong at this conference or in my new profession as an ADHD coach. One of the presentations I attend is on “the secret to time management.” Early on in the session, it is revealed that the secret to time management is energy management. The speaker, Dr. Tamara Rosier, then goes on to present her “Solve-It Grid.” This grid blows my mind. I go on to write a blog post about it and recommend its use to some of my clients.
Revibe Connect Review
At the 2018 International Conference on ADHD in November, I won a Revibe Connect device. A Revibe Connect is like a fitness tracker, but this device is for your focus. You wear a watch-like device and every so often it prompts you tap on it to let it know if you are focused on what you should be or not. I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, I was less enthusiastic about it after I started using it.
